Multimode bosonic and oscillator codes

Multimode bosonic codes distribute logical information across the joint phase space of several oscillators and use intermode correlations against Gaussian displacement, loss, or amplification noise. This topic focuses on oscillator-to-oscillator constructions such as GKP-repetition and GKP-two-mode-squeezing codes, not every multimode optical state.

Encoding can mix data and ancilla modes through a multimode Gaussian symplectic transformation while placing GKP or other non-Gaussian structure in ancillas. A complete representation includes the symplectic matrix, ancilla states, mode order, energy constraints, and decoding transform.

Correlated encoding redistributes single-mode displacements into combinations estimated from ancilla syndromes and can yield higher-order suppression at small noise.
